Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce celebrates business excellence

The Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the success of the 2023 Business Awards Gala.

To a packed house at Keyano Theatre, the Chamber recognized business and individual excellence in 16 different categories ranging from Lifetime Business Achievement to Hospitality and tourism.

The Chamber said all nominees have enhanced the quality of life for the community and attracted people to the area. They add that many of the businesses have advanced cultural activities, tourism, as well as local events.

This year’s award winners are:

  • Emerging Entrepreneur: Cass & Natt Event Planning
  • Indigenous Owned Business: Bouchier Group of Companies and Wild Feathers
  • Corporate Social Collaboration: Bowman’s Martial Arts
  • Environment & Sustainability: Birch Mountain Enterprises and Diversified Transport
  • Youth in Business: Red River Enterprises
  • Adaptation: Home Hardware
  • Lifetime Business Achievement: Bouchier Group of Companies
  • Hospitality and Tourism: Sureka’s on the Snye
  • Large Business: Bouchier Group of Companies
  • Medium Business: Home Hardware.
  • Small Business: Muessle Flett Law LLP
  • People’s Choice Small Business: Kumon Fort McMurray
  • Peoples’ Choice Large or Medium: Surka’s on the Snye
  • Business Leader: Dr. I.J. Uche-Ezeala

The awards mark the end of the Chamber’s formal celebration of Smal Business Month in Canada.
