Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta is announcing a new Woman of Inspiration.

Denean Robinson is the third Woman of Inspiration in the organization’s 2023-2024 series. Robinson serves as the President and CEO of the Fort McMurray Airport Authority.

She has experienced and conquered significant challenges in her career in aviation, including the economic downturn in 2014, the 2016 Horse River Wildfire, and the recent pandemic.

Robinson is being recognized in part for her extraordinary achievements and dedication to breaking barriers in the aviation industry.

“I’ve never really taken being a female as being a hindrance to anything I’ve done in my career,” says Robinson.

“I think what women are showing increasingly throughout all fields is that once we are able to get ourselves entrenched, we can excel.”

Robinson has already been recognized as “Finance Professional of the Year” for Small Airports in North America by Airports Council International North America (ACI-NA).

She, along with four other women, will formally receive the Woman of Inspiration Award at a ceremony in March 2024.
