Suspicious death in Timberlea under investigation

Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating a suspicious death at a residence in Timberlea.

RCMP responded to a complaint of a suspicious death around 7:45 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2023.

A man was located by RCMP in his basement suite with suspicious injuries.

An autopsy was performed at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Sept. 25, 2023.

The autopsy determined the death to be a homicide.

43-year-old Norman Lineham, a resident of Fort McMurray, was identified as the victim.

The Alberta Major Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate with assistance from Wood Buffalo RCMP.

Police are also continuing the investigation into the recent Tundra Drive investigation as well as the investigation into a 17-year-old man’s death.
