Big Brothers Big Sisters Wood Buffalo announces new leadership

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wood Buffalo (BBBS Wood Buffalo) is announcing Julie Penney as their new Executive Director (ED).

Penney takes over the role from outgoing ED Vanessa MacNevin, who has been with the organization for the past eight years. Mac Nevin recently took on the role of ED for the Northern Lights Health Foundation.

Penney previously served as the Programs Manager for BBBS Wood Buffalo and has previously worked with The Hub Family Resource Centre in a variety of roles for over seven years.

“The Board of Directors is delighted to continue working with Julie in her new role,” says Keith Bergey, Board President for BBBS Wood Buffalo

“Julie’s wealth of experience in the social profit sector will be invaluable in our ongoing commitment to serving the youth of Wood Buffalo.”

Penney says she is both excited and honoured to take on the new position.
