Lac La Biche RCMP has arrested and charged a man in relation to a suspected homicide.

RCMP responded to a well-being check at a residence on Sept. 4, 2023.

Officers who attended the scene located a deceased male who was identified as 22-year-old Cason Monias.

An autopsy occurred on Sept. 11, 2023, where the manner of death was determined to be a homicide.

29-year-old Ronald Giroux-Belcourt was arrested and charged on Sept. 14, 2023, with second-degree murder as well as aggravated assault.

Ronal Giroux-Belcourt is currently in custody and will be appearing in the St. Paul Alberta Court of Justice on Sept. 21, 2023.
