The Athabasca Tribal Council Cultural Festival is kicking off at Snye Point Park.

The event is a three-day celebration of Indigenous art, music, and culture open to everyone who is interested.

The opening ceremonies at 9:00 a.m. are followed by workshops, hand games tournaments, and a traditional village.

There are activities available for all ages from children through to elders.

On Friday evening there will be an Indigenous fashion show followed by a round dance on the main stage. A gift shop will be open throughout the festival where revelers can purchase Indigenous art and local crafts.

This is the fourth year for this banner event, and festivities continue throughout the weekend. A complete schedule of events can be found on the Athabasca Tribal Council Cultural Festival Page.
