A Fort McMurray student is being appointed to the Minister of Education’s Youth Council for the 2023/24 school year.

Ved Bhowmik, a Grade 11 student at Westwood High School, is one of 40 students to be named to the advisory group. Bhowmik, along with the other council members, will be sharing their experiences and providing input to the Ministry of Education as they consult on issues affecting our school system.

In total, 183 youth applied for the Minister’s Youth Council. In a news release Fort McMurray Public offered their congratulations to Bhowmick on the prestigious appointment.
