The Northern Lights Hospital Foundation (NLHF) is undergoing a leadership change as Cindy Amerongen, outgoing Executive Director, retires.

Amerongen led the foundation for seven years, including during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a media release, Greg Fuhr, Board Chair for the NLHF thanked Amerongen for her leadership of the foundation and for the incredible impact she has made on the community.

“Cindy led a capital campaign that resulted in funding the Jeremy Snook Memorial Palliative Care Suites, the Minimally Invasive Surgical Suites, and the Suncor Heart of Health Lobby,” says Fuhr.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank Cindy for her incredible leadership.”

The NLHF conducted a search and has brought in Vanessa MacNevin to take the helm as Executive Director. MacNevin has over 12 years of experience in philanthropic leadership and has most recently worked as ED of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Wood Buffalo.

Fuhr says the board looks forward to working with MacNevin as she continues to progress the Foundation’s mission.
