Fort McMurray man facing charges after downtown Break and Enters.

RCMP have arrested a 23-year-old male after reports of two break-and-enters in the downtown area.

On the morning of August 6th, RCMP say they responded to the 8400 block of Franklin Avenue after a caller reported a break and enter.

The Mounties say a window to the business was smashed, but the business was not entered. Surveillance video showed a lone male suspect leaving the scene.

Less than one hour later the RCMP responded to another break and enter on Fraser Avenue.

According to the police, the same male suspect was seen leaving the area on a bicycle.

Police quickly located and arrested the suspect, Kirkland Lettice of Fort McMurray.

Lettice is facing nearly a dozen charges including:

  • Two counts of Break, Enter and commit theft
  • Disguise with intent to commit a crime
  • Possession of break and enter tools
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Two counts of Breach of Probation

Wood Buffalo RCMP conducted an additional investigation which revealed the same male suspect is believed to be responsible for additional break and enters to businesses in the Downtown area between August 3 and August 6, 2023.

Lettice was charged and is set to appear in Fort McMurray court on August 9, 2023.
