MP Goodridge calls for Federal funding for Highway 63 to 686

Member of Parliament Laila Goodridge is seeking federal funding for highway construction.

In a letter sent to Dominic LeBlanc, Canada’s Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Infrastructure, and Communities, Goodridge and her colleague, MP Arnold Viersen are calling on the Feds to help the completion of the highway from Fort McMurray to Red Earth Creek.

Goodridge writes that completion of the highway will significantly reduce travel times and costs for industry and residents of Northern Alberta.

She adds the road will improve access to resources including oil and gas along with forestry.

In a post on social media, Goodridge says it is a crucial project which would be a game-changer for Alberta.

According to Goodridge, the completion of Highway 63 to Highway 686 corridor would promote significant economic growth in the region while bolstering the safety and well-being of Albertans.
