Rock the Rails celebrates five years in Fort McMurray

Fort McMurray’s “Rock the Rails” is commemorating its fifth year in the community with another successful event.

The exciting Skateboarding, BMX, and Scooter competition rocked Syncrude Athletic Park on June 2nd and 3rd.

The tournament attracted a crowd of over 4,000 people who enjoyed demonstrations by the Hazel Eyewear Skateboard & BMX team, food trucks, various vendors, and live music.

Mike Jones, the Chair and Founder of Rock the Rails, says the primary objective of the event is to empower young individuals and foster a strong sense of belonging.

All proceeds from the event go to support the Justin Slade Youth Foundation.

This family-oriented gathering remains free of charge and is scheduled to make a return next summer.
