The Wood Buffalo RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance to identify a suspect involved in a theft under $5000 investigation.

On May 29, 2023, at around 7:37 p.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a report of a theft of a purse from a local restaurant.

The female suspect was accompanied by a male wearing all black.

Once she completed her meal, the female walked to a nearby table where she took an unattended purse and left the restaurant.

She fled on foot and no one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as:

• Dark, shoulder-length hair
• Medium complexion
• Medium build
• Wearing a patterned beige, white and black shirt
