The RMWB is helping make spring cleaning easier by starting up heavy item pickup and big bin events.

Residents will have to register for heavy item pickup and can do so starting on Monday, May 29.

You can fill out the form online or call the pulse line at 780-743-7000 to register.

You can register up to four large household items to be picked up from your address.

Heavy items include large televisions, couches, dining furniture, and more.

BBQs are not accepted in the heavy item pickup program.

Registration ends on June 9th and collections will occur between June 19-30.

Big bin events will also be happening across the region to help dispose of household items.

Large furniture, appliances, renovation materials, and electronic waste can all be dropped off.

Commercial, construction, animal, and hazardous material will not be accepted.

The events in our region will take place between 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at:

• June 3 – MacDonald Island Park, Fort McMurray
• June 10 – Vista Ridge parking lot, Saprae Creek
• June 17 – Municipal Office, Anzac
• June 17 – Municipal lift station parking lot, Gregoire Lake Estates
• June 24 – Abraham’s Landing, Fort McMurray

Both programs are free but mattresses, box springs, and CFC appliances, such as fridges or freezers, will have additional fees.
