Fort City Car Show returns for its 10th year

The Fort City Car Show is back for its 10th straight year.

The annual Father’s Day event at Fort City Church at the corner of Spruce Street and Woodland Drive features nearly 150 vehicles of all types and sizes.

There is something for everyone, including a children’s play area with bouncy castles and face painting, as well as a pet area with refreshments for the four-legged members of the family.

Everyone is invited to enjoy a by-donation barbecue with proceeds supporting Youth With A Mission.

When the event first began, only 50 people showed up. Last year the event was attended by over 4000.

“We see ourselves, and this event as part of Fort McMurray,” says Lucas Welsh, Pastor of Team Development at Fort City Church.

“I’m not a car person, but I love this show because it is such an amazing family event.”

This year, Keyano College is bringing over their Heavy Hauler Simulator for everyone to try out.

There is also a return of the dynamometer allowing car enthusiasts to see how their rides measure up.

The event kicks off at 10:00 a.m. on June 18th at Fort City Church and runs until 4:00 p.m.

No tickets or R.S.V.P. is required to attend.

Individuals looking to showcase their vehicle must register online to secure a space.
