RCMP charge Fort Chipewyan man with drug trafficking

The Fort Chipewyan RCMP has charged a local man with drug trafficking.

On May 11, 2023, RCMP responded to a disturbance on the Allison Bay Reserve and apprehended the individual involved.

42 grams of a white substance believed to be cocaine and around $1,000 in Canadian currency were found during the investigation.

44-year-old, James Bons, of Fort Chipewyan is charged with the following:

  • Assault
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking.

James Bons was released with conditions and will appear in court on June 1, 2023.
