The Regional Recreation Corporation is naming a new Board Chair.

During a recent meeting of the RRC board of directors, Chris Pirie was elected as the new chairperson, and Justin Ellis was elected as vice-chair.

“It is genuinely an honour to serve the Wood Buffalo region as part of the RRC Board of Directors,” said Chris Pirie, Board Chair of the RRC, who has served on the board since 2016.

“I am excited to continue to work with the RRC Board of Directors and the RRC team.”

Pirie replaces outgoing chair Chantal Beaver.

Beaver will continue to serve on the RRC Board until the end of her term at the end of 2023.

The RRC Board of Directors consists of nine volunteer community members as well as two Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Councilors.
