UPDATED: Crews responding to fire north of Fort McMurray

The fire is an estimated 18.7 hectares in size and is classified as “being held”.

The cause is believed to be human.

Alberta Wildfire crews are responding to a wildfire 40 kilometres north of Fort McMurray.

The fire is being reported near Birch Mountain and south of Aostra Road.

It is currently one hectare in size.

The fire was discovered today and is currently classified as out of control.

Alberta Wildfire says two firefighting crews and four helicopters are responding to this wildfire.
