The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is planning on getting a head-start on street cleaning.
Beginning April 21, temporary parking restrictions will be in effect where work is happening to help ensure the entire street can be cleaned.
The RM says they will be putting up the temporary no-parking signs on streets 48 hours before work commences. After the 48-hour period, parking restrictions will be in effect including ticketing and towing. The restrictions will remain in place until the signs are removed.
Sweeping will begin on Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Routes in the areas below, in the following order:
- Dickinsfield
- Downtown
- Waterways
- Abasand/Grayling Terrace
- Prairie Creek
- Beacon Hill
- Thickwood
- Wood Buffalo
- Timberlea
Street sweeping on residential streets is expected to begin in mid-May following the same order as above.
The Municipality says timelines are subject to change due to weather, on-street parking compliance, and other unforeseen circumstances.
