Six firefighters will camp on roof for 100 hours

Six local firefighters are getting ready for the annual rooftop campout.

The campout is in support of five local charities which are the Fort McMurray SPCA, Wood Buffalo Food Bank, Waypoints, the Centre of Hope, and the Boys and Girls Club.

The opening ceremony will be at East Village Pub on Thursday, April 13 at 11 a.m.

The firefighters will climb the fire truck ladder onto the roof of the Tim Hortons in Eagle Ridge.

They will eat, sleep, and raise funds for 100 hours, while braving all the elements.

Residents are welcome to come to support the firefighters, while also entering daily raffles or donating.

There will also be night events held on April 14 and 15 from 9 p.m. to midnight at East Village Pub.

A pancake breakfast will be held on April 16 from 9 to 11 a.m. to wrap up the campout.
