Pet waste drop off sites opening this weekend

The RMWB is opening two locations for you to drop off your pet waste for free.

Taking place over the next two weekends, you can take the droppings to:

Howard Pew Memorial Family Park in Waterways

  • April 16 – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • April 23 – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Centerfire Place in Thickwood

  • April 15 – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • April 22 – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The RM is reminding you to double-bag your items to prevent harmful bacteria and viruses from spreading.

Accepted at the free locations are fecal matter, kitty litter, training pads, soiled wood chips, and newspapers.

The RMWB states pet waste should never be placed in the black curbside collection, and instead, bring it to the landfill, or place it in your Green Cone composter at home.
