The Markaz Ul Islam Mosque is hosting a Ramadan Fast-A-Thon.
The event is on March 31st, and they are inviting participants to join the Muslim community in abstaining from food and drink from sunrise to sunset.
The community Mosque is calling the event a chance to, “go hungry for a day, so someone else doesn’t have to”.
That evening, participants are invited to join together at the Mosque beginning at 7:00 PM for fellowship, a presentation about Ramadan, and a free meal to break the fast.
“It is a great opportunity to learn about Ramadan, get to know your Muslim community, and give back to those in need,” says event organizer, Naseem Abdo.
Interested participants are asked to register ahead of time through an online form.
The Mosque is encouraging and accepting cash donations to help children orphaned by the earthquakes in Syria and Turkey.
