Kiyām formally opening on Tuesday

The RMWB is celebrating the formal opening of the Kiyām Community Park on Tuesday, January 24 at 12:30 PM.

The park, located at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Main Street, is one of the features designed to attract people to the downtown area.

The word Kiyām is the Cree word meaning “Let it be” and is used when you are at peace with yourself and your surroundings, and nothing anyone says or does can affect you.

The park contains features such as a natural playground, seating areas, pathways, outdoor electric charging stations, and many other attractions.

While the park opened for public use in November, this Tuesday marks the formal opening of the space.

This project is funded in part by the Government of Canada, with grant administration support through the Government of Alberta
