Wood Buffalo RCMP arrest Fort McMurray resident after bomb scare

60-year-old Fort McMurray resident Paul Lussier is facing numerous charges after allegedly calling in a bomb threat on Monday, November 28.

Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a call from the RMWB around 11 am and evacuated both the Jubilee Centre and Provincial buildings in the downtown area.

The Police stated in a press release that Lussier called them around 4 pm saying he called in the bomb threat.

Shortly after, the Mounties located and arrested Lussier.

Wood Buffalo RCMP cleared the scene around 6 pm that night, stating no suspicious items were found in the building.

Lussier is being charged with uttering threats to damage property, public mischief, conveying false information with the intent to alarm, and mischief to the operation of a property.

He was brought before a justice of the peace and is being held for court in Fort McMurray on Wednesday, November 30.
