Regional Emergency Services were on the scene of a fire in the Timberlea area Tuesday afternoon.
At 3:01 pm the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo sent out a notice that crews were on the scene of a fire in a wooded area west of McKinley Crescent.
The fire is considered an Active Mutual Aid Fire, meaning that it is being managed by the municipality.
According to Alberta Wildfire, the fire is roughly 2.5 hectares in size, considered held, and is not currently at any risk to the community at this time.
Fire crews were actively spraying the area throughout the day while a helicopter assisted with aerial firefighting.
The RMWB has said they will be providing more information as it becomes available.
