Wood Buffalo RCMP seek suspects that fled from a traffic stop

Wood Buffalo RCMP is on the lookout for two individuals that fled a police traffic stop in Fort McMurray on Thursday at the intersection of Heritage Drive and Nicholson Drive.

At roughly 6:50 p.m. the two suspects fled from the police traffic stop on two blue and white dirt bikes after officers turned on their vehicle’s emergency lights.

The two individuals went north towards the undeveloped area of Parsons Creek.

Officers noted the actions of the two posed a significant danger to all users on the roadway.

Anyone fleeing police on an off-highway vehicle is subject to charges of flight from a peace officer, driving an off-highway vehicle on a highway without authorization, and driving an uninsured motor vehicle on a highway.
