A young woman from Fort Chipewyan has been arrested after concerned citizens witnessed a video on social media of an assault and recognized the location.

Fort Chipewyan RCMP was made aware of the video on Monday, June 27 by members of the community.

After an investigation and talking with locals, police were able to identify both the alleged victim and the suspect.

19-year-old Kendal Tuccaro has been charged with assault and failure to comply with release order.

Kendal has been released from custody on a release order with conditions that she is not to enter Fort Chipewyan except for court.

Her first appearance is in Fort Chipewyan Provincial Court on Thursday, July 7.
