Fort McMurray man arrested following armed robbery

Wood Buffalo RCMP arrested a 31-year-old male in relation to an armed robbery in the downtown area of Fort McMurray on Wednesday.

On June 22, police responded to a complaint of a robbery at a downtown business.

An employee told officers that a male entered the business, took merchandise, and proceeded to walk out the store without paying.

While the suspect was leaving, he lifted his shirt to reveal a weapon.

Police are not disclosing the weapon type at this time.

Wood Buffalo General Duty members set up containment for Police Dog Services who attended and assisted.

Anthony Don Joseph Crozier of Fort McMurray was located roughly two blocks away sitting on a bench and was taken into custody without incident.

Crozier has been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon.

Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing, Crozier was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Fort McMurray Provincial Court on June 27.
