Two separate single-vehicle collisions reported south of Fort McMurray on Sunday

Two unrelated vehicle collisions were reported Sunday south of Fort McMurray along Hwy. 63.

At around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, a semi-truck carrying liquid sulfur went off the road near KM marker 164 south of Fort McMurray on Hwy. 63

The driver suffered minor injuries.

Wood Buffalo RCMP reported that crews are expected to take the next two days to clean up some of the materials that spilled and to have the truck removed.

Then shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, emergency services received a call of a single-vehicle rollover, and that the car was on fire in the ditch just south of Sand Tiger Lodge near KM marker 189.

The fire was put out and no occupants in the vehicle were injured.

Both accidents are still under investigation, but RCMP has stated there were no signs of impairment in either incident.
