Hwy. 63 south of Fort McKay was closed for multiple hours by RCMP Wednesday afternoon following a multi-vehicle collision.
Around 2:35 p.m. police responded to a two-vehicle collision between a cube van and a pickup truck roughly 1 km south of Fort McKay.
Fort McMurray Traffic Services determined that the two vehicles were traveling south on Hwy. 63 when the van driver began to slow down attempting to make a left turn.
The pickup truck continued at its speed resulting in a collision with the van.
Both occupants of the van were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and the pickup driver was taken to the hospital with serious unknown injuries.
The highway was opened back up around 7:00 p.m. yesterday evening.
Investigation into the collision is still ongoing.
