After receiving extensive damage following forest fires and floods in Fort McMurray, Downtown restaurant OPA! Of Greece is re-opening its Clearwater Landing location.

“I have always loved OPA!’s unique Greek restaurant concept and the brand’s focus on quality and excellence,” says Siddhesh Deshmukh, OPA! owner of the Fort McMurray location in a recent press release. “I’ve been in the hospitality industry for many years and am excited for the opportunity to contribute to the revitalization of the OPA! brand in the Fort McMurray community. Our team is looking forward to re-opening and offering quality food and an uplifting customer experience as we celebrate our resilient return to the market.”

OPA! spokesperson, Meika English explained that the location has been under construction for six months and had to be completely rebuilt.

English commented that although the building had suffered extensive damage, there was never any hesitation about re-opening their Fort McMurray location.

She said residents had been asking when they would be re-opening their doors.

Opening day will take place this Thursday, and to celebrate English said they will be offering a $5 chicken souvlaki and Greek salad meal from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with chances to win gift cards, free meals, and other exciting prizes.
