RCMP arrest man for allegedly trying to sell fake gold

A Toronto man is being arrested in Fort McMurray for allegedly trying to sell fake gold.

38-year-old Comisaru Miclescu is facing three charges of fraud under $5,000, along with one charge for failure to comply with a release order.

Wood Buffalo RCMP stated in a press release that on May 25, they received numerous complaints of a male allegedly attempting to sell gold for cash downtown.

RCMP responded to the scene, located and identified the man as Miclescu. He is scheduled to appear in Fort McMurray provincial court on June 6, 2022.
