Property Tax Notices have been sent out

Homeowners in Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo should keep an eye on their mailboxes for their 2022 Property Tax Notices over the next two weeks.

The Municipality sent out nearly 35,000 on May 18.

If for any reason you don’t receive yours in the mail, it’s the responsibility of the property owner to contact the Municipality if you don’t have your Property Taxes.

If you haven’t received your taxes by May 31, call Pulse at 780-743-7000 or Toll-Free at 1-800-973-9663 to let them know.

Late penalties will be added to the balance of residents’ property taxes if not paid by June 30.

Continuing to work towards a 5:1 tax ratio, Council approved the 2022 Tax Rate Bylaw, which includes a seven per cent increase in urban and rural residential property tax rates.

While many will see an increase in their rates, some could see little change due to updated property assessments.

The RMWB maintains that residents in the region continue to enjoy some of the lowest rates in Alberta.
