Three teens charged following stabbing in Downtown Fort McMurray

Wood Buffalo RCMP has charged three teenagers following a stabbing in Downtown Fort McMurray.

On April 21, after receiving a complaint of a stabbing, police located an adult male suffering a serious but non-life-threatening injury.

The victim was given immediate aid and transported to the local hospital.

With the help of Police Dog Services, Wood Buffalo General Duty officers were able to locate and arrest three male youths between the ages of 15-17.

All three were charged with Robbery and Assault Causing Bodily Harm following a comprehensive investigation by the Wood Buffalo General Investigation Section.

Police have stated the three boys were known to each other and that the alleged attack was not random.

Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the names of the three teens will not be released.

Wood Buffalo RCMP gave thanks to the public and local businesses for their assistance in their investigation.
