Street sweeping and parking restrictions starting Tuesday

Spring is well underway in Fort McMurray and that means it’s time to start cleaning up.

On May 24, residents should keep an eye open for no parking signs as municipal crews begin cleaning and street sweeping.

Temporary no-parking signs will be placed on streets 48 hours prior to crews beginning their work.

Any vehicles still parked on the road at that time are subject to being ticketed or towed.

Electronic road signs will be located at the entrance of each neighbourhood to keep residents updated.

On-street parking restrictions for street sweeping will begin on May 24, on the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Routes in the following order:

  • Downtown
  • Waterways
  • Abasand/Grayling
  • Prairie Creek
  • Beaconhill
  • Thickwood
  • Wood Buffalo
  • Dickinsfield
  • Timberlea

Residential street sweeping is expected to begin in early July in the same order as listed above.
