Residents of Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo going through spring cleaning this week won’t have to worry about landfill fees over the weekend.

Residential waste fees will be dropped from May 21-24 from 8:15 am to 5:45 pm.

Anyone heading in to drop off their garbage will still be required to weigh in and out at the main scale.

Free disposable of residential waste is limited to loads of a maximum of 400 kg.

Anyone bringing in non-residential waste will still be required to pay the landfill fee.

The municipal landfill is located roughly 1.6 km south of Fort McMurray on Hwy. 63.

It’s been recommended by the RMWB that anyone wishing to shorten their wait times should avoid peak hours between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
