Alert Ready is conducting a public notice test across the province on May 4, 2022.
Set to go off at 1:55 PM MDT, you will receive the test through your cell phone, television, radio, and any other compatible wireless devices.
The test will simulate an emergency alert beginning with an alert tone, followed by the message that it is a test and no action is required.
In 2021, Alberta sent out 22 Alert Ready messages including 10 for wildfires, nine for tornadoes, two for public health, and one for a police emergency.
As for this year, up to May 1, 2022, four Alert Ready messages have been sent out, three for AMBER Alerts and one for drinking water.
