Wood Buffalo RCMP is seeking public assistance in locating a young man wanted in connection to a sexual assault in the Downtown area of Fort McMurray.

Police believe the assault happened at roughly 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20.

The victim was walking near the corner of Manning Avenue and Main Street when she was grabbed from behind and around the neck.

At that point, he pulled her into him and placed his mouth on hers.

She pushed him to let her go and he left the area on a silver, two-wheeled push scooter.

He’s described as having shaved short hair, a mustache, dark skin, and wearing a red sweater.
