RCMP arrest suspect in relation to Thursday’s downtown break and enter

Wood Buffalo RCMP arrested an individual they believe responsible for a break and enter to a business in the downtown area of Fort McMurray Thursday morning.

Police received a call regarding the break-in at 9:48 am on April 21.

At approximately 4:00 am the suspect smashed the business’s exterior glass door attempting to gain entry but was unable to proceed further due to the building having a second set of reinforced doors.

The young man fled on foot after his failed attempt to gain entry.

RCMP will not be releasing the name of the suspect as he is a minor.

The youth has been released from Police Custody and is set to appear in Fort McMurray Provincial Youth Court on May 17.
