Fort McMurray man arrested as suspected drug dealer

Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) have arrested a man from Fort McMurray as a suspected drug dealer.

On April 8, ALERT Fort McMurray’s organized crime with help from Wood Buffalo RCMP arrested a suspect at a downtown business.

Police arrested 36-year-old Zafar Ismail Mohammed with a loaded handgun found tucked inside his waistband.

Three loaded handguns were found with two of them having their serial numbers removed.

An investigation of the suspect’s apartment in Eagle Ridge led police to seize 338 grams of cocaine and $10,000.

Mohammed was arrested and charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, resisting arrest, and multiple firearms-related charges.

Another individual from Fort McMurray, 24-year-old Kori Turple has also been implicated as a suspect in drug-related offences.

She has been charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
