New Superintendent announced for FMCSD

Fort McMurray Catholic School Division Board of Trustees has announced Natasha MacArthur-Poole as their new Superintendent of Schools for the 2022/23 school year.

MacArthur-Poole has held the role of Deputy Superintendent since 2021, she was Associate Superintendent, Director of Human Resources, and Principal of Father Mercredi High School, and St. Gabriel School.

She will be taking over the role from Superintendent George McGuigan who announced his retirement at the end of this school year.

“I’m truly honoured to be called to serve in this role. I have spent over 25 years in the Fort McMurray Catholic Schools family, and I look forward to leading this strong school division in the next chapter of its journey. We have plenty of work to do coming out on what we pray is the other side of this pandemic, and we will continue to be a dynamic school division for our students, staff, and families,” Natasha MacArthur-Poole commented in a recent press release.

“We are so proud to see that our successful candidate has been a member of our family for over 25 years already. The Board looks forward to working with MacArthur-Poole in ensuring our ongoing success and navigating the future of our Division,” said Cathie Langmead, Fort McMurray Catholic Board Chair.
