The municipality will be offering cost-effective ways for residents to dispose of their pet waste.
On Apr. 2-3 and Apr. 9-10, residents can drop off their pet waste at temporary drop-off sites in Waterways and Thickwood free of charge.
Drop off locations and times are:
Howard Pew Memorial Family Park – Waterways
- April 2 – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- April 9 – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Centerfire Place – Thickwood
- April 3 – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- April 10 – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Waste products accepted are fecal matter, kitty litter, training pads, soiled wood chips, and newspapers.
The municipality asks that residents double-bag all pet waste due to it possibly containing harmful bacteria and viruses.
Other viable options to dispose of these products are to bring them directly to the landfill, placed double-bagged animal feces in park bins, or use a green cone composter at home.
Pet waste is not permitted in curbside collection bins.
