Man charged with break and enter in January has once again been charged with break and enter

A Fort McMurray man who had been charged with breaking into a downtown business just over a month ago, has been charged again for a similar crime.

Early Monday morning police received a call about a stolen vehicle in the downtown area.

Steven Linthorne was spotted driving the vehicle and after a brief pursuit, he stopped to flee on foot.

With the help of the RCMP Police Dog Services, Linthorne was apprehended.

While the suspect was in custody, police received additional complaints from an alarm going off in Beacon Hill, and a second at a downtown business.

Upon investigation of the break and enters, RCMP were informed of another downtown business that had been broken into it.

Linthorne has been charged with:

  • Break and enter into a business x3
  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Mischief under $5000.00 x3
  • Possession of break and enter tools
  • Resist arrest
  • Operate motor vehicle while being pursued by police
  • Fail to comply with release conditions x3

These charges will be tacked on to previous break and enter charges from Jan. 22. That story can be found here.
