Chamber of Commerce setting up support for local small businesses

The Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce is partnering with several organizations to launch the Digital Economy Program (DEP).

Joining together with the Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association, StartupYMM, and Community Future Wood Buffalo, DEP is designed to support small businesses as they integrate or upgrade their online operations and presence.

“Successfully leveraging eCommerce strategies is essential for all small businesses today,” said Dianna de Sousa, Executive Director of the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce.

“We are excited to help drive extraordinary results for business through the Digital Economy Program partnership.”

Through DEP, small businesses will have access to eCommerce practices and resources to help them thrive beyond the COVID-19 pandemic at no cost.

Those that register for the program will have access to experts that either support the development or upgrade of their eCommerce solutions. The program also includes product photography support.

Any registered, non-franchised Alberta business with fewer than 49 employees is eligible to apply. All information, including application resources, can be found here.
