Due to warm weather, the Fort Chipewyan Winter Road and La Loche Winter Trail are reducing daytime load limits.

As many residents welcome the end of winter and the warmer weather, this does mean the municipality has reduced daytime load limits beginning Thursday.

The maximum weight between 10:00 am to 10:00 pm has been reduced to 5,000 kg.

This means that all top-up deliveries of fuel to those northern regions will occur at night.

Next winter, the Municipality intends to move the east ice crossing over the Des Roches River further south to avoid Kazan Wildland Park.
