RMWB experiences 25th COVID-related death

COVID-19 is claiming the life of another individual in Fort McMurray.

The province announced on Monday one new death, raising the total to 23 in Fort McMurray, and the rural area remaining at two.

Across the RMWB, there have been a total of 25 deaths related to the virus.

However, multiple Indigenous leaders claim members have passed away outside of the region and haven’t been added to the local numbers.

Meanwhile, there are 47 active COVID-19 cases in Fort McMurray and 30 in the rural areas.

According to the AHS update, hospitalizations have dropped below 1,000.

As of Monday, 986 people were being treated for the virus with 73 of these individuals in the ICU.
