The Wood Buffalo RCMPs investigation into a recent break and enter to a downtown business has led to charges.
Police responded to an alarm call on Saturday at 1:04 a.m. to a business that had its front window smashed in.
Fort McMurray’s Police Dog Services also arrived on the scene and managed to track the suspect to a nearby residence.
Officers contained the building to ensure nobody could leave unnoticed while they acquired a warrant to enter the home and arrest the suspect.
As a result, 49-year-old Steven Linthorne of Fort McMurray was arrested and has been charged with break and enter into a business, and theft under $5000.
Linthorne has since been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Fort McMurray Provincial Court on February 9.
