Early morning on Wednesday a young Fort McMurray man collapsed while working at the Petro Canada along Gregoire Drive.

Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to the call of an adult male in distress and alongside Emergency Services they pronounced that 32-year-old Joel Caminos had passed away.

The businesses owner Steve Avgoustis announced that all earnings at the business location on Wednesday would go towards assisting the Caminos family to “help bear the burden of what comes next for them”.

Joel’s sister Crischa Caminos started a GoFundMe page on Thursday in an effort to help cover the costs to get his body back to the Philippines, where much of his family want to see him one last time.

The GoFundMe is also asking for assistance for his wife April who is pregnant with their second child.
