Oil Barons swing 5 deals at trade deadline

Fort McMurray Oil Barons new head coach and GM Adam Manah has officially put his own stamp on the team.

After taking over mid season for long time head coach and GM Gord Thibodeau, Manah made 5 deals on Mondays CJHL trade deadline.

Starting the day off with a splash, Manah acquired Calgary Canucks leading scorer, forward Dylan Clark for future considerations.

Clark (5’10”, 170 lbs) has 42 points (20 goals and 22 assists) in 38 games this year.

The MOB then struck a deal with the Lloydminster Bobcats and dealt away forward Hassan Akl who has 29 points (8 goals and 21 assists) in 38 games for forward Jared Miller (6’1″, 175 lbs) who has 4 points in 19 games and future considerations.

Manah’s third deal of the day came from the SJHL with the Melfort Mustangs.

Sending forward Clarke Huxley (14 points in 38 games) and future considerations to the Mustangs for forward Danny Ciccarello.

Ciccarello (5’11”, 180 lbs) was recently acquired from Melfort from the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the BCHL where he has 10 points in 27 games.

The Oil Barons final trade of the day was with the MJHL, sending forward Alex Danis to the Swan Valley Stampeders for future considerations.

Danis had 8 points in 15 games for the MOB.

Danis was acquired at the start of the season from the Wenatchee Wild of the BCHL.

The Oil Barons also signed defenceman Braden Miller (6’1″, 185 lbs) of the WHL’s Moose Jaw Warriors.

Miller has 3 points in 22 games for the Warriors.
