Students confirmed back to school on Monday

Students across the province will be going back to school this coming Monday.

Minister of Education, Adriana LaGrange commented on Wednesday that she heard overwhelmingly from families that their children need in-person learning.

To keep children safe the government has announced that by the end of this week all schools will receive what is to be the first of many shipments of rapid tests and medical-grade masks.

It was also announced that beginning next week Alberta will be providing free online tutoring resources for grades 4 to 9 with pre-recorded video sessions.

The focus of this e-Tutoring Hub will be on literacy and numeracy skills with plans to implement more courses, grades, and live tutoring by the end of the year.

Minister LaGrange also explained that they will be helping schools and students with staffing issues by continuing to allow schools to implement at-home learning if needed.
