The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo continues to push forward to complete the Fort Chipewyan Winter Road with crews working every day.

As of Dec. 17, flooding and construction of the routes continue and crews have begun testing load capacity.

They stated that all the ice crossings are close to being able to support the load limit for light vehicles.

By early next week, construction on the ramp that’s needed to cross the Athabasca River will begin.

Crews are also working on repairing culverts.
